David Lewis gained his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1965. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 1972 and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 1993. He has CME and CIME accreditation.
Dr Lewis is registered in Queensland and practises in orthopaedic surgery. He has held the position of medical officer for the North Qld Cowboys Rugby League team. He is currently a Senior Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon to the Redlands Hospital. Dr Lewis has a particular interest in trauma and medico-legal orthopaedics.
