Prue FitzPatrick gained her medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1986. She undertook her orthopaedic training in Queensland, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 1999. Dr FitzPatrick completed a 15 month fellowship in Oxford, England in hip and knee arthroplasty and became a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. She has CME and CIME accreditation.

Dr FitzPatrick is registered in Queensland and practises in orthopaedic surgery. From 2001 to 2005 she held the position of Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at the QEII Hospital. Dr FitzPatrick has a particular interest in hip and knee surgery including arthroplasty and sports injuries.
