General Physician
A general physician is a specialist in internal medicine who diagnoses and manages complex medical problems. Physicians complete at least six additional years of training after their basic medical degree and internship to specialise in a particular area of medicine. Their focus is on the management of adult medical problems.

Robert Parkes gained his qualifications at the University of Tasmania completing his studies in 1975. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. Several of Dr Parkes areas of speciality are musculoskeletal trauma/medicine, internal medicine – liver, kidney, spleen, lungs, toxicology – exposure to chemicals, pain management, sports injuries, endocrinology, cardiology, and chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia.
