Bruce Martin gained his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1961. He undertook his Orthopaedic training in Qld and the UK and become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons(Eng) in 1967. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 1971. He has CME and CIME accreditation.

He completed Fellowships of the Royal Australian College of Physicians’ Chapter of Addiction Medicine as well as the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. He is a member of the Australian Professional Society on Alcohol and Other Drugs and is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Public Health.
