Occupational Therapist

An occupational therapist (OT) is an allied health professional with a focus on assisting people to overcome limitations caused by injury or illness, either psychological or physiological. The goal is to assist individuals to move towards independence, and maximise personal and productive quality of life. An OT has expertise in assessing the physical demands of work activities, identifying suitable duties, and advising about appropriate job or workstation modifications. Examinations are often required to support and/or substantiate the medical examination conclusions and findings of limitations, and to extrapolate those to the home and work environment.
