Summary
Dr Tim Hwang is a well respected Occupational Physician experienced in all aspects of general occupational medicine and musculoskeletal injuries. He is currently in private clinical practice and also provides consulting services to numerous organisations with a focus on managing the impact of injuries and disability in the workplace, and rehabilitation strategies.
Additionally, Dr Hwang has been providing Independent Medical Examinations and Permanent Impairment Assessments in various states since 2006. He has developed a sound understanding of issues relating to Workers’ Compensation and industrial relations matters in various jurisdictions, and also presenting expert opinion in court. Accreditations include Independent Medical Examiner/Impairment Assessor with WorkSafe Victoria, and Assessor of Permanent Impairment for ReturntoWorkSA, MAIAS, WorkCover Tasmania and Comcare.
Previously, Dr Hwang worked at Melbourne Airport, the Ford Motor Company where he was Manager of Occupational Medicine and Hygiene, and various industrial clinics. Dr Hwang has had extensive experience in areas of lost-time injuries, emergency preparedness planning, medical services in the Asia-Pacific region, and high level risk communication. He has served as member of the Transport Accident Commission and WorkSafe Victoria joint Clinical Panel.
Dr Hwang is actively involved with local and International training programs in Occupational Medicine including serving as an examiner with AFOEM, and an external examiner for the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine. Industry and business training include Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, and Lean Manufacturing, as well as continued education in OHS.
