Dr Economos is an Occupational and Environmental Physician who currently works full time in his practice in Kent Town, South Australia, also servicing McLaren Vale and Mount Barker.
Dr Economos graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 1993 and following this completed a Diploma of Occupational Health.
In 2003 he obtained his fellowship through the Australian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (FAFOEM) and he then held the position of the Faculty’s Director of Training for South Australia for over ten years at The Australian Royal Australian College of Physicians.
Dr Economos’ primary practice and expertise over the past 25 years lies in helping those with musculoskeletal disability associated with workplace claims or motor vehicle accident (MVA) claims. His emphasis is to maximise function by ensuring accurate diagnosis, identifying and addressing significant barriers to rehabilitation and working with the person, the treating team and employer to achieve a safe, sustainable return to rewarding work.
His independent medicolegal practice is broad, with a special interest and expertise in assessing eligibility/causation, injury management, whole person/permanent impairment and as an Occupational Physician, capacity (fitness for work), especially of spinal, upper & lower limb complaints. He’s been providing this service in Adelaide since 2003, Melbourne since 2016 and Sydney since 2018.
Dr Economos has worked onsite for large employers, including SA Health and GMH, and has been a medical advisor to Allianz for complex claims.
