Summary
Professor Ross Crawford is an internationally recognised expert in the field of hip and knee replacement surgery. Professor Crawford undertakes private clinical practice at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside and public practice at the Prince Charles Hospital. Professor Crawford sits on several committees for professional orthopaedic associations and holds the appointment of Professor of Orthopaedic Research at QUT.
Professor Crawford graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. After concluding his specialist orthopaedics training, he pursued his interest in primary and revision hip and knee replacement by undertaking a 4-year fellowship at Oxford and Exeter in the UK. He subsequently completed a Doctor of Philosophy at Oxford University in 2000, before returning to Brisbane.
Professor Crawford is the 3rd most cited orthopaedic surgeon in Australia for orthopaedic research and has published 400 papers focusing on diverse aspects of orthopaedic surgery. He has been invited to lecture at international meetings in India, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Japan and Malaysia. He continues to work as a consultant to Stryker Corp, the largest orthopaedic company in the world, and has done so for the last 25 years.
