Assoc. Prof. Richard Williams

Summary

Associate Professor Richard Williams gained his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1988. He undertook his orthopaedic training in Queensland, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 1997 and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2001.

Dr Williams is a highly trained Orthopaedic Consultant, specialising in disorders of the spine. He has been in practice for over 20 years. Dr Williams has a special interest in tumours of the spine and is one of only 20 surgeon members of the spine oncology study group. Dr Williams is also heavily involved in the training of international orthopaedic doctors who wish to specialise in spinal surgery. Dr Williams is continually involved in many Associations and in research to improve outcomes for patients requiring surgery.

Associate Professor Williams currently holds accreditations with ABIME (CIME) Certified Independent Medical Examiner, GEPI, AMA5, WorkCover QLD, Comcare, WorkSafe VIC and TAC VIC.
