Dr Michael Steiner

Summary

Dr. Michael Steiner is a highly experienced eye surgeon with over 40 years of experience in cataract, glaucoma, and laser refractive surgery. He graduated in Medicine from Sydney University and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists. Throughout his career, Dr. Steiner has held numerous prestigious positions, including serving as Honorary Secretary of the College and Chairman of the surgical staff at Metropolitan Eye Hospital.

Dr. Steiner is actively involved in professional organisations and has contributed significantly to the field of ophthalmology. He has been involved in the organisation of scientific congresses, both at the state and national levels, and has served on various committees within the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. He has also been recognised for his contributions and received the Australian Centenary Medal, the AMANSW President’s Award, and the College Medal of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
Currently, Dr. Steiner holds several important positions, including being the Immediate Past President of the Australian Society of Ophthalmologists and Chair of the Ethics Committee at AMA NSW. He is actively involved in research, advisory boards, and medical committees, contributing to the advancement of ophthalmology and patient care.
