Dr Neil Cochrane

Summary

Dr Cochrane trained both in New Zealand and Australia after graduating with his Medical degree in 1996. He is currently working in private practice through his own rooms in Southport, and he operates at Sunnybank Private Hospital.

Prior to this Dr Cochrane held the position of Staff Specialist Neurosurgeon at the Gold Coast Hospital for a period of 6 years. He has also held positions at St Vincent’ss Private Hospital in Darlinghurst, Sydney, the Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide and the Townsville General Hospital.

Dr Cochrane is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and holds AMA5 accreditation. He is active across several medical advisory committees and holds memberships to the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia and Queensland. He is also keenly involved in education through his role as Associate Lecturer at Bond University, Queensland.

Dr Cochrane’ss professional interest include brain tumours, brain haemorrhages, hydrocephalus, trauma to the brain or skull, degenerative disorders of the spine and spinal cord or nerve compression problems. His assessment specialties include, but are not limited to, upper and lower limb neurological conditions, carpal tunnel syndrome, spinal injury, cauda equina syndrome and head injuries.
