Dr Clare Griffin

Summary

Dr. Clare Griffin is a consultant psychiatrist with expertise in forensic mental health. She completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree at the University of New South Wales in 2012 and a Masters of Forensic Mental Health at the same university in 2021, earning an award with excellence. She has a Certificate of Forensic Psychiatry and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in December 2020.

Dr. Griffin has held various positions in the field of psychiatry. She served as a Registrar in General Psychiatry from 2014 to 2018 at the Sydney Local Health District and as an Advanced Trainee in Forensic Psychiatry from February 2019 to February 2021 at Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network. She has also worked as a Locum Psychiatry Registrar in Western Australia, Tasmania, and Queensland.

Currently, Dr. Griffin works as a consultant psychiatrist at the Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network and the NSW Custodial Mental Health Service, where she provides clinical care to adult male inpatients. She has also been a member of the RANZCP Faculty of Forensic Psychiatry Subcommittee since 2022 and fulfills the role of an accredited RANZCP psychiatry registrar supervisor.

Dr. Griffin has significant experience in leadership and management, including serving as Secretary of the New South Wales Association of Psychiatry Trainees in 2015. She has also completed SARA and SAPROF training and has written a forensic report for a refugee in immigration detention. She received a scholarship for her Masters of Forensic Mental Health in 2019 from the Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network.
